Tilt Geometry Refinement
The refinement of the tilt geometry follows a brute-force search around the initial tilt-geometry; for each small variation in the tilt-angle and the axis-angle, the resulting z* is calculated for each reflection of a pattern. As indicated in Figure 3, this is equivalent to a shifting of the lattice line points along the x-axis. An RMerge is generated for each variation, and the tilt-geometry with the lowest is taken as the refined one.
